New solution automates filming, streaming, stat collection and highlight reels in partnership with USCOUTFOR Seastarlab’s Strivecast
AUSTIN, Tx. — March 13, 2017 — Today at SXSW, TNO, a Dutch-based independent research organization founded upon a belief in the joint creation of economic and social value, announced the release of a new technology that will disrupt the way that amateur basketball games are scouted and broadcast. The new solution allows schools to seamlessly film and broadcast games, collect stats in real time, and cut highlight reels at an affordable price.
TNO’s new offering is comprised of two new, state-of-the-art technologies:
● Sport Studio Automated automatically detects game highlights and computes statistics in real time during sports matches. Game tactics can be detected by applying pattern recognition for training or scouting purposes. This technology can also produce movie clips containing game highlights for the purpose of mass media distribution. Developed by TNO, Sport Studio Automated will be demonstrated in partnership with USCOUTFOR.
● The Virtual Director is a fully automated video application designed to automatically follow (pan, tilt and zoom) the part of a live event that is most interesting to viewers. Also developed by TNO, the Virtual Director will be demonstrated in action at a mock Soccer Match in partnership withSeastarlab’s Strivecast.

Currently used for soccer clubs in Europe, the SXSW announcement marks the launch of the technology for basketball across the world.
