Sacramento, Calif. – Golden 1 Center, the most technologically advanced and sustainable arena in the world, continues to break barriers in sports and technology receiving recognition from around the globe. The world-class sports and entertainment venue was honored once again when it received the award for Best Elite Sports Facility or Venue Award at the Sports Technology Awards ceremony in London.

“Golden 1 Center has created a new standard of technology, sustainability, and design recognized around the world,” said Kings owner and chairman Vivek Ranadivé. “We’re thrilled to celebrate our efforts and continue to share our endeavors in redefining the fan experience through technology with our colleagues across sports and beyond.”

In its fourth year, the Sports Technology Awards recognized and celebrated technology-led innovation across sports worldwide. The British initiative attracted entries from over 30 countries in 19 categories, representing around 70 sports and over 100 brands. A field of 32 athletes, technology, sports and communications industry-leaders compromised the judging panel.

“We are immensely proud that the Sports Technology Awards has become the international mark of excellence of the sector,” said Rebecca Hopkins, CEO of the Awards. “We have worked hard to create a judging process that both robust and transparent, meaning that startups can compete with established brands fairly; every short listee is exceptional, and all winners really are the best on the market at this time.”
