DENVER—Feb. 6, 2018—MuscleSound®, a Denver-based MuscleHealth technology company, today announced the appointment of Devon Chenette, Ph.D. as vice president of healthcare development. In her new role, Chenette will be responsible for providing strategic direction and daily operational management to drive MuscleSound’s continued growth in the healthcare sector.
A biomedical scientist, Chenette comes to MuscleSound with expertise in regenerative medicine, muscular dystrophy, oncology, and women’s health. Chenette earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Mary Baldwin College and went on to complete her doctorate in cellular and molecular biology at the NYU School of Medicine. While at NYU, her dissertation focused on identifying genes that promote skeletal muscle health. This included the discovery of a novel genetic mechanism that controls the ability of muscle stem cells to repair tissue following injury and in muscular dystrophies. Chenette completed her postdoctoral research at Yale University in the department of neurology where she screened gene therapies to promote neuronal repair following injury. She has published multidisciplinary scientific findings in top biomedical journals and has managed various collaborations with researchers, clinicians, and industry leaders.
“We see tremendous opportunity for MuscleSound to make a noteworthy impact in the healthcare space and have already witnessed immense growth and demand for the technology in recent years,” said Andy Jackson, CEO and President of MuscleSound. “This is a strategically important hire for MuscleSound, and we’re confident that Devon’s incredible depth of expertise, her tenure in the medical and scientific arenas, alongside her passion for advancing health science research, make her a critical addition to MuscleSound. We’re thrilled to welcome Devon to the team.”
“I am very excited to join the MuscleSound team! There is an undeniable fit for our technology in the healthcare sector and I see so much potential as we expand into this market.” said Chenette. “I look forward to leveraging my unique skillset and experience to lead MuscleSound’s growth in this space, as the company continues to bridge the gap between healthcare and technology.”
Chenette will be based in the company’s Denver headquarters, located at 501 S Cherry Street, Suite 1080, Glendale, CO 80246.
