Hilton Head Island, SC — On July 24, Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) will host its inaugural Hispanic Coaches Conference, presented with USTA Southern during the BB&T Atlanta Open. The conference is open to all coaches; the event’s goal is to effect change to increase participation of the Hispanic population in coaching tennis. The conference will be presented in English with Spanish translators on site.
2009 breakout star, Melanie Oudin, who retired from the pro tour in 2017, is among the speakers. Others include former WTA player Jessica Weyreuter; Atlantic Athletic Club’s Associate Director of Tennis, Carmen Garcia-Jersild; and Eduardo Rincon, former ATP player and Kennesaw State University Head Coach. Also speaking will be a touring coach who has a player in the BB&T Atlanta Open.
A tournament hat and lunch are included, and free night match tickets are available. Coaches will earn seven continuing education hours. On court and classroom presentations will be conducted from 9:45am until 5pm.
