New Little League® Video Boards Offer Unique Game Day Experience

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, PA. (August 9, 2018) – This summer at the Little League Baseball® World Series, fans and players from around the world will get to enjoy a new in-game experience thanks to the addition of three state-of-the-art LED Video Display Scoreboards. Thanks to the continued support from the Easton family and the Easton Foundations, the two scoreboards located at each of the two stadiums have been replaced with new displays. A brand new third display board has been added along the back of Howard J. Lamade Stadium, which will offer fans throughout the concourse a unique game-day experience.

“Providing our players, coaches, volunteers, and fans with a memorable experience during their time at the Little League Baseball World Series each year is a central element of our planning, and thanks to the support from the Easton Foundations, we can create a brand-new experience this year,” said Stephen D. Keener, Little League President and CEO. “The new video scoreboards, and equally important, the new video board along our main concourse, will allow fans to keep informed of important updates, enjoy exciting interactive displays, social interactions, and activities, and most of all create memorable moments with their family and friends here in Williamsport.”

The decision to replace the old scoreboards, which were installed in the summer of 2009, was made after assessing the difficulty and cost to repair the old boards compared with installation of the new scoreboards. With very similar costs, and the support from the Easton Foundation, the decision was made to replace the boards and provide fully functional video display boards that will offer a unique and memorable experience throughout the complex.

Howard J. Lamade Stadium Scoreboard

Measuring 57 feet wide and 18 feet tall, the newly designed video scoreboard at Howard J. Lamade Stadium offers fans in every area of the stadium, including the iconic Lamade Hill, a clean and exciting inside look at all the LLBWS games. With an impressive 1,100 percent more pixels than the previous video display, the new video scoreboard is capable of full-screen display and will include in-game enhancements such as video features, animated logos, interactive games, and more.

Volunteer Stadium Scoreboard

Measuring 29 feet wide and 18 feet tall, and a video display more than 500 percent more pixels than before, the vibrant new display at Volunteer Stadium will bring all the excitement of the LLBWS to life for fans, players, and volunteers alike. Along with all the functionalities of the board at Lamade Stadium, the board at Volunteer Stadium will offer a memorable experience during the Opening Ceremonies on Thursday, August 16, as well as the unforgettable Little League Challenger Exhibition Game on Saturday, August 25.

Little League Concourse Video Board

Along with the updated scoreboards inside the stadium this year, a brand-new board will be installed behind Lamade Stadium to provide fans with an easy and exciting way to keep up with all the latest information and resources while walking around the complex. The new display measures 22 feet wide and 11 and a half feet tall and is mounted behind home plate of Lamade Stadium, just across from the Family Fun Zone on the main concourse. The new display board will provide welcome messages and information to fans as they enter the complex, display exciting social media posts from fans, share important updates and games schedules, provide important resources and directions, and more.

Fans are encouraged to come out to experience the three Nevco display boards, which will offer fans and players an exciting and unforgettable new experience with interactive features, developed with assistance of Hype Graphics and Motion Rocket, by visiting the Little League Baseball World Series in South Williamsport, Pa., from August 16-26.
