Vancouver, B.C., October 9, 2018 – Ready, a financial technology company that eliminates wait times when ordering and paying for food, today announces the launch of their in-seat ordering service in 1,300 seats at BC Place, British Columbia’s largest multipurpose sporting and live entertainment venue. Ready is the only in-seat ordering technology in North America that does not require guests to download an app or register. Ready’s partner, Bypass, provides the point of sale (“POS”) solution for the BC Place roll-out.
Ready, BC Place, Centerplate and Bypass’ launch of 1,300 seats follows a pilot at BC Place that initially serviced 258 seats in its Pitch Side section through nine games. The expansion adds 1,300 seats in the premium club seats section, providing 1,558 guests access to Ready’s in-seat ordering experience, coupled with Bypass’ POS solution.
“Ready's digital to physical commerce platform is enabling new customer experiences that were not possible before,” said Laurent May, Head of Ready. “Following the success of the initial trial, we are now looking ahead to create further innovation with Bypass and greater value for BC Place and its guests. At the forefront of innovation, BC Place has truly been a leader in their industry, adopting new technology and focusing on new ways to enhance guest experience.“
The partnership between Ready and Bypass allows for seamless integration between the in-seat ordering solution and the venue’s POS. Guests do not have to download an app or register; pain points that have caused friction for users of in-seat ordering solutions in the past. Fans scan a unique Ready QR code on the armrest of their seat with their phones, which directs them to the Ready in-seat ordering menu. Guests make their selection, pay, and have their order delivered directly to them without missing a moment of the event.
BC Place is the only stadium in North America to have adopted app-free in-seat ordering. Its team’s goal is to enhance the guest experience with a new innovation and level of convenience visitors cannot currently experience elsewhere, while increasing both the number of food and beverage orders and order size/spend per visitor.
“Bypass and Ready were able to take a great idea and execute it seamlessly, producing an exceptional in-stadium experience for our guests. We are very excited to offer this industry-leading service at BC Place,” says Milad Sakiani, Director of Technology for BC Place.
