Now, the world’s toughest artificial turf products are more accessible to sports facilities across the Northeast.
GeoSurfaces Northeast, a new subsidiary of GeoSurfaces, Inc., is off to a tremendous start and has completed its first installation in just its third full month in operation. The company just completed a 75,000 square feet installation of GreenFields turf for Boston Parks & Recreation at Noyes Playground in East Boston.
GeoSurfaces, which is based in Baton Rouge, La., has installed more than 400 fields and nearly 30 million square feet of artificial turf over the last 15 years, and specializes in the design, development, construction and installation of sports surfacing.
Now GeoSurfaces has its own team of surfacing experts in New England to service the northeastern U.S. The new division will carry both GreenFields and GeoSurfaces turf, pad and base system products.
“Opening a northeastern division gives us the ability to provide the kind of hands-on, day-to-day support we know our customers need,” said Charles Dawson, founder and CEO of GeoSurfaces. “With this new division, we’ll be able to easily and efficiently service customers throughout the Northeast.”
Before its new division opened in January, GeoSurfaces was already managing numerous installations of GreenFields’ turf in the region. Just last year, the New England Patriots selected GeoSurfaces to install the GreenFields’ IRONTURFTM product for its practice facility, Empower Field House.
The new field at Noyes Playground is lined for soccer and softball and made of ALLSPORT XP fibers, GreenFields’ tufted XP/slit film turf product. ALLSPORT XP fibers are unsurpassed in durability while offering superior playing comfort with a natural appearance and soft surface for players.
“ALLSPORT’s durability makes it the perfect choice for Noyes Playground,” said John Huard, Jr. vice-president of operations for GeoSurfaces Northeast. “We know Bostonians will be able to enjoy this top-quality field for years to come.”
TenCate Grass, GreenFields’ parent company, acquired a controlling interest in GeoSurfaces in 2018. The two companies have already collaborated on several installations of GreenFields’ premium woven turf product, IRONTURF.
Most recently, GeoSurfaces installed an IRONTURF football field at the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff, which represents GreenFields’ first Division I IRONTURF installation. GeoSurfaces also installed the first IRONTURF baseball field at Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Mississippi and the women’s softball field at Baylor University in Waco, TX.
