Ground-breaking Technology Report for the Sports Industry

The STA Group and the English Institute of Sport (EIS) have revealed they will publish a new industry report, The Sports Technology Annual Review, in the Autumn.

The Sports Technology Annual Review, a first of its kind for technology in the sports industry, will detail key advances and trends from across sport, highlighting leading tech-forward sports organizations and brands. The Review will provide insight, analysis and commentary on the most important, advanced and innovative figures in the sector globally.

Content for The Review will be drawn from numerous sources, most notably extensive and bespoke research by the EIS Performance Innovation team, as well as information derived from STA Group judges and entries submitted to The Group’s award programmes.

Rebecca Hopkins, CEO of The STA Group, explained: ‘The Sports Technology Annual Review is a much-needed piece of insight that will focus on the brands and people who are game-changers in sports technology and innovation. Previous sector reports have, so far, focussed on the start-up community and whilst this is hugely valuable, the industry’s major players are really the ones who instigate seismic change.’

She continued: ‘We are proud to be creating this important and ground-breaking initiative with the EIS as they are one of the very few sports bodies who have this degree of knowledge and understanding of the sector, which makes this insight enormously credible, useful and exciting.’

Nigel Walker, National Director at the English Institute of Sport, added: ‘The EIS has a unique track-record of performance-impacting innovations that enable athletes, coaches and managers to excel. The Sports Technology Annual Review gives us the chance to share our research as well as the unique insight enjoyed by the STA Group, and together we are seeking to celebrate and promote technology and innovation – such an important part of modern sport.’
