Eufaula, Ala.– A.D. Construction of Salt Lake City, UT was recently awarded an American Buildings Company (ABC) Building of the Year Excellence in Design Award in the Recreation category for the Alta High School Hawk House. A.D. Construction built the new indoor sports practice facility for the district’s various athletic teams to utilize year-round. The 20,350 square-foot fieldhouse features ABC’s rigid frame and lean-to clear span framing, as well as a partial mezzanine that in certain locations cantilevers several feet away from the building. The main portion of the facility houses the practice field - a 50-yard by 30-yard artificial turf. A batting cage is suspended from the ceiling that can be raised and lowered as needed and an under-hung protective netting spreads around the perimeter. The building is clad with ABC’s Architectural III wall panel system.
