DALLAS, TX (August 4, 2020) – POWERHANDZ, a global athletic training and rehabilitation product tech company, announced today their international partnership with the Niagara River Lions of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). With this partnership, the Niagara River Lions will be using POWERHANDZ products during practice to enhance players’ skills training. Based out of Frisco, Texas, POWERHANDZ features a line of innovative products, which are used by athletes of all different skill levels ranging from youth to professionals.

The partnership arrives just in time as the CEBL launched its Summer Series on July 25, making them the first professional league in Canada to return to play following the COVID-19 outbreak. During this time, POWERHANDZ is continuing to forge global partnerships, and is proud to be teaming up with the revered Niagara River Lions, representing the Niagara region of Ontario, Canada.

As the Niagara River Lions train for the Summer Series, products from the POWERHANDZ Basketball Collection will take their practices to the next level. With the Anti-Grip Weighted Training Basketball Gloves the team will be using a training tool with weight resistance strategically placed along the top and an anti-friction material on the palm, leading to improved hand and arm strength as well as increased difficulty to dribble and catch the ball. The players will also be using the Basketball Dribble Sleeve, which decreases control when dribbling or catching the ball. Both of these tools will improve performance and confidence on the court.

“We are extremely excited to be working with POWERHANDZ. Our goal is to always find ways to maximize the potential of our players,” said Antwi Atuahene, Niagara River Lions Assistant General Manager.

“POWERHANDZ is committed to expanding our innovation in every country and sports league,” said Danyel Surrency Jones, Co-Founder and CEO of POWERHANDZ. “We look forward to playing a critical role in the development of the CEBL athletes’ overall performance.”

The Niagara River Lions are one of the original six teams of the CEBL. Playing out of Meridian Centre in downtown St. Catharines, the River Lions represent the twelve municipalities of the Niagara Region while living up to the River Lions moniker of pride and strength of community.
