ATLANTA, GA Aug. 21, 2020 – SENTRY ultraviolet (UV) systems from ChlorKing are now approved for secondary disinfection use in splash pads and swimming pools following NSF certification.
In granting certification, NSF said product tests confirm a minimum inactivation equivalent of 3 log (99.9 percent) cryptosporidium parvum in accordance with NSF 50 and the US EPA UV DGM and meet the requirements of NSF/ANSI 50, Annex H.1 for a 99.9 percent reduction of Enterococcus Faecium [ATCC #6569] and Pseudomonas aeruginosa [ATCC #27313].

NSF 50 secondary certification removes many of the regulatory and permitting hoops that pools, water parks and recreational facilities had to jump through to take advantage of our dual-lamp, low-pressure, high-output amalgam systems. We’ve designed SENTRY systems to treat water flows from 50 to 1,140 gallons per minute at a fraction of the cost of higher-priced medium-pressure systems.”
All SENTRY UV models operate at 120v with a maximum of 12amps for cost-effective operation and maintenance. Lamps are rated for 13,000 hours, which is more than twice as long as comparable medium-pressure systems. They also offer another unique benefit. While the lights produce UV at 254nm, they also produce ozone at 185nm, which produces hydroxyl radicals and adds to the sanitization of the water flowing through the chamber. This additional sanitizer helps reduce the amount of chlorine required to maintain safe conditions.
