LED video and ribbon displays currently being installed
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Sept. 23, 2020 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has partnered with Xtream Arena, to manufacture and install two LED video displays and two LED ribbon displays. The project is currently underway in Coralville, Iowa, as the new venue plans to open this fall.
“The inclusion of Daktronics video and ribbon boards as well as the courtside signage will enhance our guests’ experience while attending events at Xtream Arena powered by Mediacom,” said Jack Ligon, general manager of Xtream Arena and GreenState Family Fieldhouse. “The technology and service Daktronics offers allow us to provide the flexibility this facility was designed for to our tenants and partners. We look forward to showing the capabilities with the events to come.”
The two new video displays, one at each end of the arena, will feature 5.9-millimeter pixel spacing to bring crisp, clear imagery to viewers throughout the arena. Each display will measure 15 feet high by 24.5 feet wide and features industry-leading environmental protection to ensure they operate as expected, even with the changes in humidity going from hockey events to basketball, volleyball and other events.
“We’re excited to have had the opportunity to partner with the City of Coralville, Mortenson and Spectra on this great new facility,” said Matt Warnke, Daktronics sales representative. “The displays installed will aid in providing event-goers a first-class experience and we look forward to seeing the completed presentation when the arena opens.”
The video displays are capable of variable content zoning allowing each to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to share any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, game information, graphics and animations, venue announcements, and sponsorship messages.
Two ribbon displays will be mounted to the seating fascia to bring additional graphics and messages to arena visitors. Each ribbon display will feature 10-millimeter pixel pacing and measure 2.5 feet high by 359 feet long. They provide the opportunity to highlight sponsors throughout events and help engage fans during every exciting moment.
In addition to the equipment installation, Xtream Arena will also receive a content package that will be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services.
