We believe design can be a catalyst for positive change. With every engagement, we work to build a better world with you.

As we focus on increasing our collective impact, we are excited to announce the newest group of Associates at HCMA. This team was chosen for their creativity, proven track records and collaborative abilities.

"My Partners and I are pleased pleased to announce the promotion of six new Associates: Aiden Callison, Ali Kenyon, Rance Mok, Eric Tinlup Ng, Susan Ockwell and Kim Winston," says Managing Principal Darryl Condon.

"These emerging leaders join our existing Associates Adam Fawkes, Craig Lane, Jay Lin, Dan Philippot and Annerieke van Hoek," he adds.

Together, we look forward to making a difference with you in your communities.

LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR SIX NEW ASSOCIATES

  • Aiden Callison was a key player on our award-winning Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre project before moving to New York with his family for two years. We’re thrilled to have him back in our Vancouver studio where he is currently working on the Clayton Community Hub project, a mixed-use recreation, library and arts centre in Surrey, BC. Aiden is an artist, singer, fire fighter, athlete and father.
  • Ali Kenyon has a background in product and exhibition design which complements and informs her work as an architect. She has played a pivotal role on the #MoreAwesomeNow laneway transformations and is currently working on the Minoru Centre for Active Living in Richmond, BC, a mixed-use aquatic and senior’s facility. Ali edited both our books, POOLS: Aquatic Architecture and PLACES: Public Architecture. Her karaoke skills are unparalleled.
  • Rance Mok is an architect who is engaged in Victoria’s arts and culture scene through her involvement with the Integrate Arts Festival and initiatives like Car Free Day Victoria. She has worked on design-build projects Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre in Ontario and Oak Bay High School in Victoria, and is currently working on the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, where HCMA is acting as the Architect of Record. Don’t forget to ask her about her record collection!
  • Eric Tinlup Ng joined our Vancouver studio after living and practicing architecture in New York. Since joining HCMA, he has been an integral leader on the recently completed Surrey RCMP Expansion, the Surrey Museum Expansion and the ‘Unbelievable’ exhibition coming soon to the Museum of Vancouver. Eric is a graduate of Columbia University where he received the school’s top honours and has taught graduate level studios - he maintains academic interests as an occasional guest critic and through UBC SALA's mentorship program. He lives in Vancouver with his wife and two children, who think all he does at work is draw and eat snacks.
  • Susan Ockwell brings a specialty in education projects to our team. By staying curious and exploring details and diversities near and far, Susan imagines new possibilities for healthy collective places that connect and inspire people. She played a pivotal role on the Douglas College Master Plan and is currently working on the Royal Roads University Centre for Environmental Science and College of Interdisciplinary Studies Expansion and Renovation. Susan loves cycling and is one of our softball team’s MVPs.
  • Kim Winston joined us from London (UK), and has spent over a decade creating beautiful buildings that inspire, engage and adapt to meet varied and shifting needs. She enjoys working in a team that continually questions and finds solutions for making stronger communities through open, collaborative design. Kim was an integral member of the Granville Island 2040 Land Use Vision & Strategy project, and is currently working on a number of feasibility studies. She is also training for a half marathon and planning a kayaking trip around the Broken Island this summer.
