BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (March 1, 2011) - In the midst of one of the worst recessions in United States history (2009-2010), Octane Fitness, LLC (www.octanefitness.com) introduced nine new standing and seated elliptical cross trainers, doubled its space and hired nine new team members in 2010, with plans to add seven to nine more employees in 2011.

While other companies have endured significant cutbacks, layoffs and declining sales, Octane continues to remain profitable, investing heavily in research and development, with six new product introductions expected this year.

"Our exclusive focus on ellipticals drives our business," said Dennis Lee, Octane's president and CEO. "And our ability to deliver equipment attributes that people want and products that meet their needs has helped us thrive, despite widespread economic challenges."Steady, Significant Growth Since Octane was founded in 2001 by Lee and Tim Porth in Lee's basement in suburban Minneapolis, Minn., the company has grown exponentially, with 44 employees today in the United States, seven international staff members, an office in the United Kingdom and a subsidiary in The Netherlands. In December, the company moved its headquarters to meet the ongoing need for more space for additional staff and research and development. Octane's new office is located at 7601 Northland Drive North, Suite 100, Brooklyn Park, MN 55428; phone numbers remain the same at 888-OCTANE-4 and 763-757-2662; the fax number is still 763-323-2064. Today, approximately 455 retail stores worldwide Europe and Asia sell Octane's 12 home models and 6 commercial units globally.

Since 2003, Octane products have received more than 41 Best Buy awards from numerous leading consumer publications, and in June 2007, Lee and Porth won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® Award in the consumer products category.
