U.S. sports equipment manufacturer Bison, Inc. now includes over 140,000 square feet of manufacturing space with the move of all storage, design, fabrication, coating, and packaging departments to its 1100 SW 6th Street warehouse and shipping location in Lincoln, Nebraska. The company’s full lineup of sports equipment will now be produced under one roof for maximum efficiency and increased capacity, allowing it to consider contract manufacturing opportunities.
A little more than a year after ground was broken on the 85,000+ square foot expansion to Bison’s current warehouse facility, the department-by-department move over several months was officially complete after the new custom powder coating line went live. The original finished goods warehouse also received a facelift with new storage racks and forklifts plus the three additional docks to reduce congestion on busy shipping and receiving days.
“After more than 40 years in the industry, Bison is again poised for growth and we have the most efficient production processes in place to stabilize prices in spite of market pressure on raw material costs affecting manufacturers in recent years. As a Midwestern U.S. manufacturer that sources over 90% of our content from the U.S., we have close relationships with our suppliers and can be responsive to changing market conditions to benefit our dealers and their customers,” says Nick Cusick, founder and CEO.
The privately-owned manufacturer has been one of the industry’s top suppliers of sporting goods equipment for many years. Bison’s 100 employees continue to supply U.S. and international athletic directors, coaches, facility administrators and equipment managers with safe, durable, and innovative sports equipment made in the U.S.A.
Bison’s National Sales Manager Chris Livingston adds, “As a sporting goods manufacturer, we look forward to serving our dealers and their customers more efficiently to provide them with U.S.-manufactured competition and recreational level equipment for indoor gyms and outdoor sports field. We can also consider adding contract manufacturing for private label sports equipment, thanks to our expansion.”
