Indiana University, after unprecedented success in the 2024 football season, has reached record-setting ticket revenue for the 2025 season.
According to The Herald-Times, the student section season tickets have sold out for the first time in school history. The student section, which holds over 11,000 fans, has seen preseason ticket sales increase by 50%, and the athletic department had to cap the section.
The Hoosiers are scheduled to play seven home games in the 2025 season, and the first conference game of the season — against Illinois on Sept. 20 — is already sold out.
“We are really excited about that, the speed of those (student ticket) sales was another leading indicator of the increased interest in this team,” senior associate athletic director for strategic communications Jeremy Gray said.

On top of capping the student-section, Indiana also beat its overall ticket revenue record, generating more than $13 million so far. The previous record was $12.8 million. And, that figure does not include revenue from the personal seat donation fees applied to season ticket holders.
In anticipation of the high demand for tickets, the Hoosiers introduced a new single-game ticket sale process this year. The release of single-game tickets was staggered, first in pre-sale, then as a two-game bundle and finally for single games. The Indy Star reported that part of the motivation for the new ticket sales process was due to the increase in season-ticket sales.
"Ticket sales have been phenomenal,” Indiana athletic director Scott Dolson said. “Best I've seen in my long history, in terms of year-to-year improvement.”
