Missing football coach Travis Turner has been completely scrubbed from the website of Union High School in Big Stone Gap, Va., after news that he vanished while under investigation for child sex crimes.
As reported by the New York Post, Turner, 46, had led Union to an undefeated season at the time he faced 10 warrants for his arrest on multiple counts of child pornography and soliciting a minor. He's been missing since Nov. 20.
According to Post reporter Mikella Schuettler, "the school’s website went from celebrating the coach to fully ignoring him."
"Now, there is no mention of him on the school’s website, despite him having worked there for 11 years, as a football coach and also a physical education teacher," Schuettler wrote.
There is no head coach for varsity football listed.
Officials then issued 10 warrants last week — five for possessing child pornography and five for using a computer to solicit a minor — as a huge search continued in the area, using drones and K-9 units, the Post reported.
The school confirmed it was aware of the investigation, saying that “the individual remains on leave and is not permitted on school property or to have contact with students.”
According to WJHL in Johnson City, Tenn., the United States Marshals Service is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to Turner's arrest.
Union won its first playoff game Nov. 29 with defensive coordinator Jay Edwards serving as head coach.
