University of Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari is creating a morning show that will serve as a COVID-19 fundraiser.

Calipari, who has coached three teams to a total of six Final Four appearances, announced Tuesday that he has partnered with ProCamps to launch a Facebook Live show that will support No Kid Hungry and “other child-focused COVID-19 relief initiatives.”

“We started this process by teaming up with Fayette County Schools and were able to feed kids and families from 37 elementary schools across the Lexington Area,” Calipari said. “This new platform allows us to expand the initiative nationally.”

The 20-week Coffee with Cal series will stream live on www.facebook.com/JohnCalipariFantasyExperience/. The first show will air at 10 a.m. ET on April 13 and feature guest Mark Cuban, the owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks. Bill Clinton and Dr. Anthony Fauci will be on later episodes for conversations and “positive messaging” intended to help people struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic.

"ProCamps brought me this idea to make a broader, more timely impact,” said Calipari, who has also partnered with Larry Connor and the Connor Group Kids & Community Partners,. “A virtual series featuring leaders and celebrities who have positive messages to share while we raise dollars for a child-focused cause is something I am excited to do.”
