Greg and Corinna Tucker have made a $2 million gift to the University of New Hampshire to install lights at Tucker Field, the future home of the men’s and women’s soccer and women’s lacrosse programs, according to an announcement Thursday on the university's website. The gift from the longtime supporters of UNH athletics is a significant step in transforming Tucker Field into a stadium serving not only Wildcat student-athletes, but also the Oyster River Youth Association.

Self-described tennis enthusiast and longtime Spartan Joan Secchia has committed $10 million in support of Michigan State University's varsity men's and women's tennis programs. According to an announcement posted Tuesday at msuspartans.com, the most immediate applications of Secchia's gift include significant improvements to the MSU tennis facilities, including new outdoor courts and enhanced spectator seating at the outdoor courts. Additional enhancements and upgrades using the funds will be determined later.

The University of Virginia announced Feb. 29 that the family of the late David and Mary Harrison, two of the university’s most generous benefactors, had made a pair of commitments totaling $55 million to the Olympic Sports Center in the Department of Athletics and to create a leading-edge translational research program dedicated to the next generation of therapies for Alzheimer’s and related diseases. The $25 million funding the Olympic Sports Center comes from the Harrison Foundation, with the center providing support to more than 750 student-athletes, including UVA’s field hockey, cross country, track and field, lacrosse, rowing and soccer programs.

Murray State University has received another seven-figure gift, this time a $1.5 million commitment from Swift & Staley, it was announced March 1 at goracers.com. The Paducah, Ky.-based company's contribution represents the largest single investment in MSU athletics history and marks the fourth gift of one million dollars or more given to the Racers this year.
