Stonehill College in Easton, Mass., announced Wednesday a landmark $15 million donation from alum Tom Bogan and his wife Kathleen, kickstarting a fundraising campaign to support the construction of a new ice hockey and basketball arena. In recognition of the gift, the largest in school history, the facility will be named the Tom & Kathleen Bogan Arena.
Boston College Athletics on Thursday announced receipt of a $2.5 million gift alums Phil Schiller and Kim Gassett-Schiller to endow the head coaching position for BC's two-time national champion women's lacrosse program. The Schiller Family Head Coach for Women's Lacrosse position is the third women's head coaching endowment in BC Athletics history. Acacia Walker-Weinstein, who has guided the Eagles to their two national titles and eight consecutive trips to the NCAA Division I Final Four, will be the first to hold the position in women's lacrosse.
Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Fla., announced Thursday that it has received an anonymous $1.5 million donation toward construction of a baseball complex on campus. As reported by ABC affiliate WPBF in Tequesta, the complex will have modern facilities and amenities designed to support training, competition and the overall development of student athletes. Constrcution is scheduled to begin this fall.
