The University of North Carolina at Greensboro celebrated a landmark moment during halftime of its Nov. 8 men's basketball game against Elon with the official renaming of Fleming Gymnasium to Bodford Arena. According to the athletic department's announcement, the historic moment was made possible through a transformational $2 million gift from the Bodford family — the largest unrestricted gift in the history of UNCG Athletics, as well as the first associated with naming a competitive athletics facility.
The University of Virginia athletic department and the Virginia Athletics Foundation announced Tuesday that an anonymous donor has pledged to match every dollar contributed to the Baseball Enhancement Fund and baseball current-use scholarship growth made possible through the House v. NCAA settlement, up to $1 million. "This transformational commitment celebrates both the program’s proud legacy and its bright future under the new leadership of head coach Chris Pollard," the announcement stated.
