Minor League Baseball teams, including the Corpus Christi Hooks, raised more than $300,000 for victims of hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Minor League Baseball Charities announced the distribution of more than $180,000 to charities helping with recovery, according to a news release.

The Corpus Christi Hooks will donate funds to Little League teams in Port Aransas, Rockport, Aransas Pass, Ingleside and Refugio along with their donation to the Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Group.

Funds donated will help the Little League teams purchase equipment damaged or lost and also will help repair their facilities, the release states.

"We are overwhelmed with gratitude at the generosity of teams across Minor League Baseball as our industry meets the needs of those who have come into harm's way," said Andy Steavens, Corpus Christi Hooks Vice President of Sales and Marketing, in the release. "These funds will help fuel recovery in the Coastal Bend as the calendar turns to 2018. It's a long process, but we're pleased and privileged to help and proud to be a part of this region and Minor League Baseball."

Minor League Baseball Charities also donated to the Houston Astros Foundation to help with relief projects. Donations were made to the Houston Police Department's Blue Santa Program, the Houston Food Bank and Houston Children's Charity, which provides beds and linens to children as they return home, the release states.

More than $50,000 also was given to organizations in Florida to help with Hurricane Irma recovery. Among them were Goodwill, Lee County Schools, the United Way of Charlotte County and Trinity Rescue Mission Women and Children's Center.

Donations of more than $120,000 were given to the Red Cross, The Salvation Army and United Way Worldwide, the release states.
