The NFL has sent an informational video to all teams related to referee Brad Allen's controversial call on a two-point conversion during last Saturday's game between the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys.

The Lions two-point conversion happened in the fourth quarter with no time left on the clock. If successful the conversion would have given Detroit the win. However, Allen changed the ruling on the field and marked Detroit offensive tackle Taylor Decker ineligible. Allen said that Decker had not reported to the referee as eligible, asserting that it was actually offensive tackle Dan Skipper that reported.

Mike Garafalo of the NFL Network reported via X that the league sent a video to all head coaches and general managers that centered around the call and how players need to report as eligible before a play.

“As a reminder to clubs and players, an offensive player numbered 50-79 or 90-99 is permitted to line up as an eligible pass receiver," the video explains. "To allow the defense an opportunity to match personnel to avoid deception, and to ensure fairness, the player must immediately report the change in his eligibility status to the referee, who will inform the defensive team and make an announcement to the stadium before that play.”

After the ruling, the Lions made two more attempts at the conversation, but both were unsuccessful, handing Dallas the win.
