The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Basketball Committees conducted a quarterly joint committee videoconference Monday as they prepare for their respective championships, which begin this month and conclude with both national championships decided in early April.

With each committee looking forward to Selection Sunday on March 17, the focus of the videoconference included a discussion of several championship operations topics, including an update on broadcast planning, review of the team charter travel and family travel stipend policy, and issues management discussion. The committees also covered team obligations, with both receiving an update on future championship considerations.

"The quarterly committee calls have proven to be an excellent opportunity to connect with our counterparts, gather information and make decisions in real time for the benefit of both championships," said Lisa Peterson, senior associate commissioner of the Pac-12 Conference and chair of the Division I Women's Basketball Committee. "Both committees strive to provide an incredible championship experience for all involved, and these opportunities to discuss, listen and understand the challenges faced by the other committee are invaluable."

"It's an exciting time for both committees as we wind down the regular season, see conference tournaments get underway and watch all of the hard work that men's and women's teams across the country have put in over the past five months lead to a chance to participate in March Madness," said Charles McClelland, commissioner of the Southwestern Athletic Conference and chair of the Division I Men's Basketball Committee. "Having the opportunity to regularly meet with the Women's Basketball Committee benefits both championships because of the communication that takes place, resulting in making decisions that have a positive impact on participating student-athletes in both tournaments."

The 68-team fields for both the 2024 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Basketball Championships will be announced on Selection Sunday, with the men's selection show airing at 6 p.m. Eastern time on CBS and the women's selection show airing at 8 p.m. Eastern time on ESPN. The Division I Women's Basketball Championship will be decided April 7 in Cleveland, and the men's national champion will be crowned April 8 in Phoenix.
