Weeks after being told that all Division III athletics would be cut following the 2024-2025 season, student-athletes at Bryn Athyn College (Pa.) received some hopeful news. Bryn Athyn College and neighboring Albright College have announced a transfer partnership for student-athletes.
According to a press release from the colleges, any student-athletes from Bryn Athyn who wish to continue competing in their sport may transfer to Albright College beginning in the Fall 2025 semester.

The two colleges guarantee a transfer of all academic credits, no increase in tuition costs, scholarship matches and no changes to the student-athletes’ graduation timeline. Roughly 70 miles separate Bryn Athyn College and Albright College, both in Pennsylvania.
President of Bryn Athyn College, Sean Connelly said in a statement, “This partnership with Albright College represents our commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for our student-athletes, affording them choices to continue their collegiate athletic careers and complete their degrees without any significant effects on costs or academic standing. While we hope all our student-athletes choose to finish strong and complete their degrees at BAC, we recognize the importance of athletics as a part of the college experience and the benefit to students of having this no-hurdle transition option."
His sentiment was echoed by Albright College president, Dr. Debra M. Townsley. “Our institutions share a commitment to academic excellence and student success, and we have worked diligently to create a transfer process that ensures these students can continue their education without interruption, additional costs, or loss of academic progress."
Albright College offers 23 NCAA Division III sports teams compared to Bryn Athyn’s 11, so student-athletes will find significant overlap in opportunities should they choose to transfer colleges. Albright College is a member of the Middle Atlantic Conference, offering students a new field of competition as well.
