The Ohio High School Athletic Association has ruled that a group of football players from Ursuline High School are not eligible to transfer and play in 2025.
“The OHSAA has informed Ursuline High School that the student-athletes on the 2025 football team are not eligible to transfer and play football at another school this fall,” said OHSAA's Tim Stried in a message to WKBN.
The news comes after Ursuline announced last Friday that the remainder of the school's football season would be cancelled after numerous matchups were canceled by opposing teams, who cited concerns in light of the recent lawsuits filed against Ursuline.
Ursuline, the diocese, administration and some staff are named in a hazing lawsuit connnected to a field trip in the summer of 2025.
According to WKBN, a Title IX lawsuit has also been filed by a former female student, alleging sex-based discrimination and accusations of assault by a football player.
