Utah Tech University men’s basketball forward Dario Domingos was issued a flagrant-2 technical foul during Saturday’s game against Tarleton State University, marking the second time this season that the Bison’s have incurred such a foul and resulting in a one-game suspension for Domingos.

Utah Tech had possession of the ball with 15 minutes remaining in the second half of the game, when Domingo can be seen elbowing Tarleton State’s Chris Mpaka in the back of the head. Mpaka collapsed to the ground after the hit.

According to WAC Sports News, the commissioner of the Western Athletic Conference, Rebekah Ray, issued a public reprimand of the university following Saturday’s incident.

“The Western Athletic Conference maintains zero tolerance for violent or unsportsmanlike conduct in Conference competition,” Ray said. “The Conference will continue to uphold its sportsmanship standards and take appropriate action when those standards are violated.”

Per conference bylaws, if a member of the Utah Tech team receives an additional flagrant-2 technical foul during the 2025-26 season, the entire team will be subject to disciplinary measures.

WAC maintains the right to suspend the head coach, suspend multiple student-athletes for multiple games, and several other penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct.
