The San Francisco Unified School District will require Lowell High School's varsity baseball team to forfeit games and replace the team's head coach after an incident of racial taunting was reported last spring.
According to ABC News, the district released the findings of an investigation into the matter Sunday.
SFUSD said the incident involved alleged race-based taunting by varsity players who attended a junior varsity game.
The California Interscholastic Federation also conducted an investigation and determined Lowell players violated CIF's sportsmanship rules.
Lowell will now be required to forfeit three games, and the school will have to hire an interim head coach.
"There is no place for racism, discrimination, or radicalized harm in the Lowell community or anywhere in the district," CIF said in a statement.
