Former Oklahoma State basketball coach Lamont Evans has pleaded guilty to bribery charges.
According to the Associated Press, the 41-year-old Evans admitted to accepting $22,000 in bribes to convince players headed to the NBA to sign on with favored financial advisors.
Sentencing has been set for May 10, and a current plea deal on the table recommends Evans serve two years in a federal prison.
Evans would also be required to forfeit the $22,000, and the judge in the case has warned Evans that he may be subject to deportation, as he is a citizen of Barbados.
Evans is the latest in a string of indicted related to the FBI’s probe of college basketball. Assistant coaches Book Richardson of Arizona and Tony Bland of the University of Southern California have both plead guilty to bribery charges in recent months.
