A high school assistant athletic director is in hot water after being charged with stealing funds from his employer.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Christopher Morehead was arrested and charged with stealing $2,280 from Lake Forest (Ill.) High School’s intramural sports fund.
Rob Copeland, deputy police chief in Lake Forest, said Wednesday that the school contacted police after its resource officer realized the funds were missing.
“(The resource officer) worked with the security director, and they conducted an investigation and interviewed Morehead, who admitted to taking the money,” Copeland said.
Morehead was released from police custody on a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 1. He remains employed by Lake Forest and the school has placed him on administrative leave.
