A youth baseball game over the weekend in a Denver suburb descended into a brawl among parents who were disgruntled with calls being made by a 13-year-old umpire.
According to The Denver Post, the game between Lakewood and Bear Creek took place over the weekend at Westgate Elementary School in Lakewood, Colorado. Lakewood police say it was about noon when 15 to 20 adults began fighting. The fight was still in progress when police arrived at the scene.
“There were several reports of injuries and one serious injury,” said Josh Romero, a spokesman for the Lakewood police. “We’re looking for any information on this melee, but in particular the identity of the suspect in the white shirt and teal shorts who threw a sucker punch.”
Police have released video of the altercation in hopes of identifying those involved.
