High School Ends Football Season over Assault

A California high school has decided to end its varsity football season after a player was assaulted by four of his teammates.

Gilroy High School announced the decision in a post on its website, saying that both the high school and school district are committed to the football program, but the district recently learned that “most of the varsity players have chosen not to finish the season and therefore, at this time, the season will not continue.”
