A high school coach in Michigan has been fired after he made disparaging remarks about a student-athlete while speaking on a podcast.

Travis Neville, former junior varsity football coach at Grand Blanc, operated a personal podcast on YouTube called “Travis Neville Podcast: Get Your S--- Together.”

Neville was talking about an eighth-grade student who transferred to another school.

“Honestly, good riddance to that motherf-----. Everything I saw about him is he’s a lazy full of s--- ... not the kind of guy we want,” Neville said on the podcast, according to a WEYI-TV report.

The podcast has since been removed from YouTube.

“The district would like to make clear that the conduct and language of this adult was inappropriate and not at all representative of the views of our school district,” Deputy Superintendent Trevor Alward said in a statement to MLive-The Flint Journal. “The coach was quickly dismissed from any and all duties by the GBHS Athletic Department.”

Neville has since said that he is “embarrassed” and “ashamed” of his comments. He said he asked to be fire and said he would continue podcasting and make a public apology during an upcoming episode.

“I feel awfully about that,” Neville said. “I wish there was something I could do to fix this. ... I lost my coaching job and it serves me right. I said a thing I shouldn’t have said. I should have known better.”
