Ex-Northeastern Track Coach Sentenced for Duping Athletes Into Sending Nude Pics

Former Northeastern University track-and-field coach Steven Waithe was sentenced this week to prison for tricking women into sending him nude images. His cyber sex schemes involved more than 100 women from across the country, the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Waithe, 31, who coached at Northeastern University in Boston, Penn State University, Illinois Institute of Technology, the University of Tennessee, and Concordia University Chicago, pleaded guilty in November 2023 to 12 counts of wire fraud; one count of cyberstalking; one count of conspiracy to commit computer fraud; and one count of computer fraud, aiding and abetting.
