A prep volleyball coach in Long Island, N.Y., who was accused of sexually assaulting a teen was found dead, officials said.
Jason Maser, 22, was arraigned in court Friday on suspicion of two counts of third-degree rape, two counts of third-degree criminal sexual act, and endangering the welfare of a child, WNBC-TV reported. Bail was set at $75,000 and an order of protection was issued.
Nassau County police said Maser, of Syosset, sexually assaulted the 15-year-old girl while working as a girls' volleyball coach for Sacred Heart High School in Hempstead and B&B Volleyball in Albertson, WABC-TV reported.
Police said the rapes happened on Feb. 7 and March 7.
MTA police said Maser was found after "intentionally" stepping in front of a Long Island Rail Road train around 10:30 p.m. in Syosset. Officials pronounced him dead at the scene, and police do not suspect foul play.
Maser died hours after appearing in court.
