Youth Swim Coach Arrested on Voyeurism Charges in Arizona

Former youth swim coach David Laudati was arrested in Arizona this week on charges of voyeurism and attempt to commit voyeurism.

The first report came in September of 2023 when a student-athletes’s parent contacted police to say their daughter had found a cell phone, recording, in the girl’s locker room at the Center on Main and Litchfield Park Recreation Center locker room where Laudati coached.

According to ABC 15 Arizona, “Police say the phone was in a backpack's mesh pocket in the bathroom and the screen was on, showing what the camera was recording.” 

Following the first report, police searched Laudati’s home and took control of his electronic devices. After analysis, they found several photos showing undressed minors from the center locker room and bathroom. In total, police identified three victims between the ages of 14 and 17. No others have come forward at this time. 

Following a months-long investigation, a grand jury indicted Laudati on multiple counts of voyeurism in July.  Authorities arrested him at his home and he is being extradited back to Maricopa County where the incidents took place.

Laudati coached the Arizona Dolphins team at the center and coached at Millenium High School at the time. He was immediately fired after the school district learned of the allegations. The school district also sent a letter to parents this week explaining the situation and the actions they have taken.

The Arizona Dolphins club team, where Laudati was caught filming student-athletes, also released a statement, saying, “We are so proud of the swimmers who came forward to stop Dave. Their bravery is what allowed Buckeye PD to quickly start an investigation that has led to his arrest. We continue to support the families involved, and offer any support to the investigation as we are able.”
