High School Fires First-Place, First-Year Basketball Coach Amid Parent Complaints

Despite the boys' basketball team at Pittsburgh's Bishop Canevin High School being close to clinching a section title, first-year coach Damien Cornish said he and his assistants were let go Monday.

As reported by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Cornish was told during a meeting with school administrators Monday that “the player and parent experience wasn’t on the trajectory where the program wanted to go.”
