Assistant LAX Coach Axed Over Alcohol Allegations

Jason Scott

An assistant lacrosse coach at the private St. Louis (Mo.) University High School has been fired after officials learned he had provided alcohol to members of the team on numerous occasions, even joining the underage boys in drinking prior to practice.

St. Louis Fox affiliate KPLR reports that the assistant coach — who was unnamed in media reports — was fired shortly after head coach Andrew Touissant learned of the claims.

The school has a policy of not commenting on specific personnel or student disciplinary issues, but six players were suspended for an April 13 game against rival De Smet.

St. Louis University High is a private Jesuit school for boys and one of the largest private schools in the state of Missouri.

No additional information regarding the player suspensions nor the specific allegations was available.
