The University of Miami announced plans to upgrade and renovate its baseball facilities. The $7 million fundraising campaign will go toward supporting a renovated player lounge and nutrition center, and a new scoreboard for the program. Auburn University announced that the team of Goodwyn, Mills, and Cawood and HOK Architects would partner and consult on the development and design of the school’s planned Football Performance Center. The move was approved by the Auburn’s Board of Trustees. The next phase of the project will be for the board to approve the budget, funding and site plans. — AuburnTigers.com
Marshall University held a groundbreaking for its baseball stadium this week. Plans call for a 3,500-seat stadium, complete with batting cages, bullpens, player lounges, a video room and a nutrition station. James Madison University has plans to install a new synthetic turf field system at Eagle Field at Veterans Memorial Park, the home of the school’s baseball program. The new field, featuring FieldTurf’s DoublePlay Natural product, will have a new look — incorporating a large JMU logo in the outfield.
