A Sugar Land (Texas) youth softball game at Imperial Park was interrupted over the weekend when three parents got into a physical altercation that left one man unconscious. Two people were arrested in the aftermath.

According to Click 2 Houston, Kiarious Hall was attending his daughter’s softball game and cheering when he claims a fellow parent approached him and “told him he could not cheer that way just before the players were about to pitch.”

The two men continued arguing about Hall’s behavior during the opposing team’s at-bats and were soon joined by a third man. Videos taken of the incident appear to show one of the men poking Hall in the chest. Subsequently, Hall swung his large metal water bottle at the man’s head and struck him; the man fell to the ground and lost consciousness.

The argument between Hall and the remaining parent then escalated to a physical altercation. Hall’s wife also got involved, allegedly pushing a man into the bushes, and they threw punches until witnesses separated the group. Police were quickly called and both Hall and his wife were taken into custody. Jazmine Hall is charged with misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury. Kiarious Hall’s charges have not yet been defined as they will be determined on the extent of the injury to the man he knocked unconscious.

The victim’s attorney said his injuries currently include a broken jaw, fractured skull and brain bleeds.

Bryan Perry, a coach for an opposing team and trained paramedic, intervened before first responders arrived. He said the man was “completely unconscious. He wasn’t able to talk to us. He wasn’t able to do anything. So at that point, me and the other paramedic were there just to protect him from himself and from all the other bystanders. I just wish more parents understood that we’re there for the girls.”

Gary Greaser, one of the men seen in the video, described the incident to ABC 13. He said, “We're saying, 'Hey, why are you getting loud?' It's bad sportsmanship to do it right as the pitch comes up when our girls are batting, and that's all it took. He just flipped and said, I can do whatever I want. I can say whatever I want. And you can't stop me.’”
