Inspired by the "California contemporary" style of design, HealthRidge Fitness Center blends into its surrounding hills and valleys. Sited along a ridgeline, the building's exterior draws color from the prevalent outcroppings of native limestone, while curved metal roofs carry the form of surrounding hills.

Interior acoustical separation and visual continuity were also given high priority in the design of this state-of-the-art facility, which contains separate 25-meter lap and exercise pools, a 1.8-mile track and a full-size basketball court, as well as volleyball, racquetball, group cycling, yoga, Pilates, strength- and cardio-training, and aerobic-exercise spaces. Deluxe locker rooms feature steam rooms, saunas, 10-person whirlpools, towel service, private showers and changing areas, family changing rooms and lounges with televisions. Other amenities include conference rooms, a pro shop, a cafe, a children'fs area and a full-service day spa. An outdoor terrace and a main lounge with a two-sided stone fireplace and wireless Internet access round out the program.

The main lobby and the spa draw special interior attention — combining a rustic lodge aesthetic with country-club appeal through the use of makore wood, copper, cultured stone, simulated slate, resin panels embedded with reeds, and warm paint colors. Mosaic glass tiles, bamboo, cork flooring, calming colors and fountains create a peaceful environment within the day spa.
