The Carl and Deloris Petty Sports & Recreation Complex was creatively designed to enhance student life and further the mission of Missouri Baptist University.

The design incorporates an abundance of natural light, welcoming guests and encouraging use by all students. Amenities include a fitness center, an indoor track, an aerobics/dance area, locker rooms, a lounge and assembly spaces. The R. Alton Lacey competition gymnasium seats 1,000 and includes a digital control system, premium flooring and electric bleachers. The indoor floating track provides users a bird’s-eye view of the gym. The fitness center offers free weights, cardiovascular and weight machines, flat-screen televisions and music. The aerobics room has a surround-sound system and mirrored walls, plus a bay window offering beautiful views of the eastern campus.

A food court offers students healthy food alternatives, and a grand archway leads into the J.E. & L.E. Mabee Foundation courtyard adjacent to the university’s recreation complex. The open outdoor area serves as welcoming space to get fresh air, relax and admire the landscape. Augmented reality has been applied to numerous features of this facility, providing students with a convenient way of staying connected with all upcoming events and other important announcements.
