The Southridge Sports and Events Complex was in development for approximately 10 years. The original schematic is vastly different than what was built and is a true reflection of the needs outlined by the community.

Kennewick has experienced tremendous growth in the number of tournaments and special events it hosts, and the Southridge Sports and Events Complex is unique to the region — combining both indoor and outdoor sports, recreation and event opportunities at one site.
The site plan covers 42 developed acres (with an additional 10 acres to be developed in a future phase) that include six outdoor multiuse fields, static and aquatic playgrounds, concessions areas, two meeting rooms and restrooms.

A 30,000-square-foot, two-level pavilion can accommodate a host of sports and activities and boasts a three-court gymnasium, a lobby and kitchen areas. In the pavilion lobby, maximum use of natural light is captured through floor to ceiling windows at the main entrance and sides of the building, and the stairwells incorporate clear glass to the exterior.

The color scheme of the complex follows the “wine country” theme that surrounds Kennewick. Muted tones of burgundy, beige and green were used to blend with the environment.
