Embodying its mission of “Active Learning, Active Life,” the Dixie State University Human Performance Center represents multifaceted design accommodating academic, athletic and recreational space on a campus located just one hour southwest of Zion National Park. Design transparency showcases activities from inside and outside. This visual transparency brings DSU’s Human Performance Center’s design to life as a stunning beacon set against the backdrop of the towering mountains and mesas.

The center’s 50-meter swimming pool, diving tank, heated spa and 750-seat spectator balcony are central fixtures that are surrounded in glass, creating a visual buffet for those entering and passing by the facility. The facility features two moveable bulkheads, with two 3-meter and two 1-meter diving boards.

One of only a few human performance center designs in existence that marry academic, recreational and athletic programs, DSU’s Human Performance Center delivers on the promise of sustainability, ingenuity and practicality. The university touts its new facility as the smartest design of its kind within the state of Utah and a landmark structure serving as a welcoming gateway to the heart of its campus and scenic plateaus beyond.
