West Lafayette Wellness & Aquatic Center

West Lafayette, Indiana
Construction Cost: $24 million
Area / Square Feet: 73,000
Occupancy Date: January 2021

After nearly 30 years of anticipation, the City of West Lafayette finally achieved the wellness center for which it had been hoping. In 2016, the city’s master plan was completed, with the wellness center prioritized among the most critical items for the community’s clear path forward.

The goal was an aquatic and wellness facility that would meet the diversified needs of the community in a timely manner. The new $34 million facility, funded through the West Lafayette Redevelopment Commission, features a unique multipurpose pool with four lap lanes, open areas for swim lessons and group exercise, and a leisure pool with a vortex and three different means of entry, including a zero-depth beach entry area, traditional stairs and a wheelchair lift.

This aquatic center satisfies the needs of all of West Lafayette’s visitors by providing recreation and wellness services. Specifically, the community is excited about the incorporation of fun program offerings such as “Dive-In Movies.” Other recreational spaces in the wellness center include meeting rooms, three gymnasiums, an indoor playground, an indoor track and a fitness center.
