POOL FOR ALL
The Dillon Family Aquatics Center was designed to serve Fremont Family YMCA members, the Midland College swim team, the high school swim team, and competitive swimmers in the region. One of the YMCA's primary goals is to ensure that every first-grader in the Fremont school system has lessons to become a competent swimmer. The Olympic-sized pool accommodates swim lessons, aquatics classes and Fremont's larger swimming community.

REGIONAL DESTINATION
The desire to work within the limits of a capital campaign, all contributed to design decisions. Precast concrete was selected for its ability to hold up to an indoor pool environment. Acoustical metal deck provides excellent sound control, and its long spans allowed for a minimum of structural trusses. A very economical floor tile was specified for the public spaces, and concrete was left exposed where feasible. Fabric ductwork resists corrosion and provides a significant visual impact to the natatorium.
