The Victory Capital Performance Center on The Rock at La Cantera campus redefines professional sports training. Home to San Antonio Spurs basketball operations, the facility features cutting-edge sports technology, including a motion capture performance lab, an environmental training room, hydrotherapy pools, a sensory deprivation tank, a team dining room and a performance kitchen. The building also marks a significant advancement in sustainability, being the first mass-timber-constructed training facility in professional sports and one of the largest in Texas. The project spans 45 acres and includes a human performance research center, as well as a 22-acre park and a public outdoor event plaza. There are also office spaces, medical facilities and hospitality spaces. Aquatics features include a 177-square-foot cold plunge pool, a 214-square-foot warm plunge pool, a 960-square-foot therapy pool with two lap lanes, and a 96-square-foot underwater treadmill pool. The design had to accommodate the varying heights of basketball players, ensuring balanced depths for all team members. This facility sets a new standard in human performance and community engagement.
