Quechee Club

Quechee, VT
Construction Cost: $4.4 million
Area / Square Feet: 10,700
Occupancy Date: May 2016

Sized right
The Quechee Club had specific program requirements that significantly expanded the size of the existing pool complex by 10,000 square feet. The pool design had to meet users’ competitive, exercise and recreational needs while maintaining the character and scale of the club’s existing clubhouse and rural Vermont setting. The project is very visible from its location adjacent to the golf course and Ottauquechee River.

Golf course views
The design takes full advantage of the existing facility. Both pools and their surrounding deck space were positioned to take advantage of the views of the golf course and the valley beyond. The layout creates space for families enjoying recreational water play, as well as individuals seeking a more secluded and quiet pool experience.

On the clock
The project was subject to very strict local and state review for both overall design and environmental permitting. The project was designed and finalized with the contractor to ensure the work could be completed between Labor Day and Memorial Day, as the club could not lose the outdoor pool for a season.
