Glenview Community Ice Center, Glenview Park District

Glenview, IL
Construction Cost: $28,072,242
Occupancy Date: September 2020

Built in 1972, the Glenview Ice Center’s aging infrastructure and increasing operational costs led to a thorough evaluation as part of the District’s 10-year comprehensive master plan process.

In 2018, the Glenview community approved a referendum to make renovation possible.

The Glenview Ice Center is now a state-of-the-art facility embracing a forward-thinking approach to architectural design and sustainability — both environmental and financial — thus reinventing the facility’s identity within the community. The Glenview Ice Center is a year-round destination for recreation, instruction and competition. Visitors are welcomed into the facility through The Great Hall — a warm, friendly and open space that features a fireplace sculpture created by a local artist and donated by the Glenview Park Foundation.

The renovated facility features two NHL-size rinks with spectator seating and adjacent locker rooms, a studio rink, team rooms, dryland training and a pro shop. In addition, the facility offers a Community Room with a capacity of 100 people, a full-service restaurant with seating for 50, and a Grab and Go Café.
