Baseball and Softball Clubhouse California Baptist University

California Baptist University maintains a high expectation of design and construction in all its campus projects, and the new baseball and softball clubhouse is no exception. Located inside the Lancers Outdoor Athletic Complex, the clubhouse sits along a walkway on the west end of campus. The facility is strategically located between both the baseball team’s Totman Stadium and the softball team’s Funk Stadium. 

The main floor houses locker rooms for both teams, with softball’s lockers residing on the east side of the building, and baseball’s on the west side. Each locker room is equipped with audio and visual hookups so teams can follow live conference action during the season. Both spaces include showers, team laundry facilities, athletic training suites and kitchenettes where players can refuel after practice or between games of doubleheaders. 

The clubhouse also features a lobby with an interactive database of the two programs’ rosters, statistics and biographies dating back to 2002. Encompassing the height of the entire building, the wall behind the interactive screen is a visual feature referred to as the Rain Wall, where over 11,000 backlit holes pull visitors’ eyes to the focal point where championship trophies are prominently displayed. 

The new building design complements the mission-style architecture of other buildings on the CBU campus. The clubhouse blends beautifully into its surroundings, which include existing trees, and its balconies overlook both the baseball and softball fields, providing a unique perspective with great views.
